a pronomen bath tub surround

update! a few readers commented that the photos were gone. no idea how that happened - could have been hijacked or hotlinked. anyways, i've uploaded them again. and sorry, if this appears as a repeat post on your rss feed.

i like bathroom makeovers and here is a fantastic one from philip, featuring the ikea kitchen countertop, pronomen.

"here are some pictures showing how a tired 70's bathroom went wow with help from ikea's pronomen countertops and the numerar edging. finish was behandla wood oil.

for slightly more than the price of a good sheet of plywood the pronomen is a wonderful product to base a design on. total investment with 2 countertops and the bath surround was 4 pieces, around $300.

bath tub surroundbath tub surround bath tub wood panel surroundkohler basinsamerican standard faucetsbreaking the tubthe bath surround and supports were constructed with a frame of pressure treated 2x4s. the pronomen was then cut and mounted to this frame which simplified things somewhat. the man breaking out the old tub is jose, a salvadorian. he did all the construction work including the very confusing angle and corner cuts! he got very excited about the project and added some very nice, slightly turned edges.

the tub and bidet are from duravit while the sinks are kohler. and the faucets are american standard. tiles are "in-stock" lowes travertine."
